My son is around a size 13.5-ish this year and I should have ordered that size rather than a size 1Y, as they're a touch big. However, these shoes look great! I wouldn't say they have a wide toe box, but they are flat. My son likes them and they'll look great with casual and slightly dressier outfits.
We love these shoes and the bubblegum color but we wish for extended sizing 1and 2 youth. My granddaughter has worn these shoes since she was tiny and is sizing out at 13.5 and she is not ready to part with this style shoes yet.
See Kai Run makes my favorite kid shoes, but I do wish they had an option for an extra wide toe box. Right now they are one of the best for healthy foot shape, but there is definitely room for improvement and my own child could use more space for proper toe splay.
